TypeCulture® LLC is an independent digital type foundry and academic resource owned by Mark Jamra. The TypeCulture name is a registered trademark.
Mark Jamra is a type designer and former professor (now retired) at Maine College of Art & Design in Portland, Maine. He has designed and produced typefaces for over 40 years. His lettering and typefaces have been shown in numerous exhibitions and have received awards from the Association Typographique Internationale (ATypI) and the Type Directors Club (TDC). He has lectured, conducted workshops and taught graphic design, type design and history at colleges in the U.S. and Europe. He has also been a typographic consultant to the Hewlett-Packard Research Laboratories in Bristol, England and to URW Software & Type GmbH in Hamburg, Germany. Mark has served on the boards of the Society of Typographic Aficionados (SOTA) and the ATypI. He is a co-founder of JamraPatel, a studio which focuses on typefaces, keyboards and apps for indigenous scripts.
