OpenType Font Format
TypeCulture fonts are in CFF OpenType format, a new cross-platform font format with advanced typographic features. Learn more about OpenType.
Fonts downloaded from TypeCulture.com are compressed using StuffIt Deluxe and can be expanded using the free StuffIt Expander utility from Allume Systems - available for Macintosh, Windows and Linux.
Important!
TypeCulture's OpenType fonts are great typographic tools, but before purchasing OpenType fonts, you should read Adobe's OpenType ReadMe page for valuable information on such topics as "Mac OS Issues", "Windows® Issues", and "Application Compatibility and Issues". Before buying, find out if you have the computer operating system and applications for making the most of OpenType!
Minimum System Requirements for TypeCulture's CFF OpenType fonts
Macintosh
- Macintosh with PowerPC™ processor
- Mac OS 8.6 through Mac OS 9.1, or Mac OS X
- ATM Light 4.6 (4.6.2 for Mac OS X Classic)
- ATM updater to 4.6.1a/4.6.2a, if using AdobePS 8.8 or later
(Mac OS 9 or Classic only) - If using a PostScript™ printer, the latest AdobePS printer driver is recommended. (Mac OS 9 or Classic only)
- 16 MB of RAM (32 MB recommended)
NOTE: Mac OS X provides native support for CFF OpenType .otf fonts (as well as PostScript™ Type 1 fonts) and does not require ATM Light for use with native and carbon applications. Applications running in Classic mode in Mac OS X still require ATM Light.
Windows
- PC using a Pentium™ processor
- Microsoft Windows™ 95, 98, ME, NT 4 (with Service Pack 4), Windows 2000 or Windows XP
- ATM Light 4.1 (not required for Windows 2000 or Windows XP)
- If using a PostScript printer on Windows 95/98/ME, AdobePS printer driver 4.3 or later is recommended.
- If using a PostScript printer on Windows NT4, AdobePS printer driver 5.1.2 or later is recommended
- 16 MB of RAM (32 MB recommended)
